Dr. Marlon Jant is currently a physical therapist treating out of Virginia. He obtained his Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 2011. As a physical therapist, Marlon has worked in different settings including home health and outpatient rehabilitation. He has experience with all types of orthopedic and sports injuries, as well as experience with personal training and creating weight management programs for clients.
Dr. Jant is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Kinesiology & Rehabilitation at Old Dominion University with a focus on applying telehealth to complete sports injury risk assessments. He is the current Director of Clinical Education for the Physical Therapy Assistant Program of ECPI University: Newport News, VA. Dr. Jant is also the Director of Health and Wellness for the Seven Cities Vets Pro Basketball team in the East Coast Basketball League (ECBL). He leverages technology to reach clients via telehealth.
Dr. Uchenna J Onyia is a Physical Therapist currently practicing in the state of GA. She obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 2011. Uchenna is the owner of Optimum Physical Therapy, a clinic that is based in Kennesaw, GA. Prior to diving into physical therapy, she played division-1 basketball at Manhattan College where she was captain for 3 years. She graduated Dean’s List at Manhattan College and received her Bachelor of Science degree in Allied health. Dr. O as some refer to her, has been working in outpatient orthopedics for the duration of her career. She is a certified manual therapist and is certified in dry needling. She has experience with a multitude of diagnoses and has worked with patients ranging from pediatric to geriatric populations. She also has experience working with competitive and recreational athletes, dancers, and those who wish to become more active. Her strengths revolve around her ability to connect with her patients and work as a team to achieve their desired goals. She uses a myriad of treatment techniques to compliment her plan of care and help patients reach their treatment goals.
Dr. Lauren Russell is a Board-Certified Sports Specialist who enjoys treating athletes at all levels. She obtained her Doctorate in Physical Therapy from Old Dominion University in 2011. She specializes in orthopedic, sports injuries and injury risk reduction programs. She uses functional mobility screening to assist in diagnosis and treatment of underlying causes of pain and dysfunction. Her certifications include Level 1 SFMA, Level 1 IASTM Hawkgrips, Emergency Responder for the Athlete (ERA) and Blood Flow Restriction training. She also uses cupping, vibration therapy and kinesio taping in her treatment plans. As an ERA, she is able to work sideline with athletes and volunteers with social league sports teams providing medical care as needed. As a retired DII basketball player, Dr. Russell understands the importance of keeping an athlete’s body functioning at peak performance while remaining injury free. From the Olympic athlete down to the weekend warrior, Dr. Russell is dedicated in helping the athlete’s body to work to its maximum potential.
Arielle Mabry is a Board Certified Behavior Analyst (BCBA), licensed through the Virginia Board of Medicine. She is a proud graduate of Old Dominion University where she received a Bachelor’s Degree in Speech Pathology. Arielle completed her initial Applied Behavior Analysis (ABA) coursework through the Florida Institute of Technology and continued her studies at Arizona State University, where she received her Master’s Degree in Curriculum and Instruction (Applied Behavior Analysis). Due to her special passion for early childhood intervention, she completed advanced training in the Early Start Denver Model (ESDM). She has many years of experience working closely with families and collaborating with related service providers, in effort to provide the most effective treatment and interventions.
